Donavan has a wealth of experience in managing customer contact centres, having worked in Europe, the Middle East and Southern Africa on the set-up and recovery of centres for some prominent organisations; he is an expert in his field.
In this role, he is responsible for the strategy, daily management and running of Which? Legal Service. He is dedicated to ensuring we deliver a first class service to all our members.
Espe joined Which? Legal Service in July 2006. She advises on all aspects of consumer law as well as holiday and travel law, tenancy advice, parking violations and neighbour disputes. In addition, she advises on employment law. Her previous experience is varied and spans from commercial law to criminal law.
Espe enjoys clarifying legal points for our members and advising them on the legal issues that affect everyday life.
Espe deals with media requests for Which? Legal Service, providing comment to journalists and interviews for local radio.
Dean read at Keele University. He is a fully qualified barrister and was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of Inner Temple in 1999. He currently practices as a solicitor having cross-qualified in 2004.
Dean has always worked in the consumer law field, specialising in litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He has previously worked as a Legal Services Manager at Thomson Holidays and has a specialist knowledge and interest in holiday and travel law.
He is an experienced adjudicator having worked for many years as both an adjudicator and decision writer to the ombudsmen at the Financial Ombudsman Service. Dean is also a CEDR accredited mediator.
Hazel qualified as a solicitor in 1990 and specialises in Wills, Probate, Powers of Attorney and Trusts.
She has worked for Which? Legal Service since January 2012. Before that, she worked for a number of firms of solicitors and then ran her own practice for three years.
She is very interested in her area of work and follows its developments carefully so she can keep abreast of recent changes to the Law and relevant cases.
She enjoys using her legal and general life experience to advise and assist members. She finds the feedback from members rewarding, making her work at Which? Legal Service very worthwhile.
Louise is an experienced employment specialist. She trained and qualified as a solicitor in private practice. Shortly after qualifying, she became an in-house solicitor with a large public sector organisation, and within a couple of years she specialised in contentious and non-contentious employment law.
Louise joined Which? Legal Service in 2007 and brought with her the benefit of over ten years' experience of representing and advising both employers and employees. She has a breadth of experience and knowledge that enables her to provide members with both legal and practical advice on a broad spectrum of employment issues and disputes.
Maureen is one of the longest serving members of staff at Which? Legal Service.
Maureen is a qualified Barrister and was called to the Bar in 1996. She practised as a barrister specialising in civil litigation and crime before joining Which? Legal Service.
Now a specialist consumer lawyer, she provides telephone advice to members on a wide range of issues including insurance claims, mobile and telephone disputes, and parking matters. Maureen also advises on complaints arising from holiday and travel disputes, neighbour disputes and landlord law. Maureen is committed to helping consumers obtain justice and looks forward to speaking to and helping members with their queries.
Maureen is an avid reader, including legal reports and journals. Her hobbies include playing bridge, and watching horse racing and football.
Monica was called to the Bar in 2001 and then began her career as an advocate, specialising in civil litigation. In 2005, she qualified as a solicitor and worked in private practice until 2007 when she joined Which Legal Service.
As a lawyer for Which? Legal Service, Monica’s areas of expertise are employment and consumer law as well as landlord and tenant matters.
As a media trained lawyer, Monica is called upon by both broadcast and print media to give expert advice. She has appeared on Working Lunch, BBC Breakfast, Channel 4 News and Don't get done get Dom, as well as a number of radio stations.
In her spare time, Monica enjoys meditation, dance and yoga.
Patricia qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and has worked in private practice focusing on commercial and civil litigation. She joined Which? Legal Service in 2008, knowing that many consumers were unable to persue genuine claims due to cost restrictions and lacked the courage or skill to take on large organisations. According to Patricia, "Which? Legal Service empowers consumers to do just that, and instead of feeling short-changed, they're getting specialist legal and practical advice to help achieve positive results".
Patricia advises by telephone and email, and provides interviews for TV, radio and magazines.
Peter is one of our employment law specialists and deals solely with employment calls. He handles many different cases on a range of employment issues, from discrimination to dismissal.
Peter worked previously for the Fire Brigade as a retained firefighter and as a consumer rights advisor.
Peter qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and joined Which? Legal Service as a telephone advisor in January 2007. He advises on all aspects of consumer law, as well as giving advice on tenancy disputes and neighbour disputes.
Before joining Which? Legal Service, he worked for a number of years in a variety of legal roles within the insurance sector. For Peter, the most satisfying part of working for Which? is in helping a member resolve their dispute quickly and successfully.
Peter lives near the coast and enjoys walks by the sea with his family.
Richard started work with Which? Legal Service in August 2009. He provides advice to members by telephone and email on a wide variety of consumer law issues, as well as landlord and tenant problems.
Before joining Which? Legal Service, he worked for a number of years as a lawyer in private practice dealing with a range of civil and commercial litigation, as well as divorce, employment and criminal work. He also worked for the Magistrates Court.
Richard enjoys the opportunity to help members understand their legal rights. He finds feedback from members who have been able to resolve their problems following the advice very rewarding.
Stephen has been a solicitor for nearly 20 years. It was his love for consumer law while doing his degree that made him want to become a solicitor and specialise in this area of the law.
According to Stephen, "if you're into consumer law, there's no place to work other than at Which? as they are the Champion of Consumer rights".
Prior to working for Which? Legal Service, Stephen worked for a leading legal expenses insurer, providing telephone advice on consumer matters. He was also a consumer advisor working for a Trading Standards department. Stephen is also a full member of the Trading Standards Institute.
Stephen has been quoted in The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian and The Sunday Times. His TV and radio credits include BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio 4's Moneybox, BBC's Today Programme, and BBC Radio Five Live.
