If your package holiday is far from heaven

A family package holiday may be one of your biggest yearly expenses. You may well have spent months looking forward to getting away. So any last minute change, or difference between what you expected and what you actually got, can ruin your well-earned break. We can help you understand what steps to take against the holiday company or travel agent, and whether you might be entitled to compensation.

You should get what you paid for

The package travel regulations are highly comprehensive. They make the travel company legally responsible for giving you the holiday you booked and paid for. Did the company make changes to a package holiday before you travelled? Did you have any issues with the flight, hotel or service while you were away? Was an excursion cancelled? Then you may be entitled to compensation.

Which? Legal can help

If you feel you’ve been misled by a travel agent or have a complaint about a holiday booking, our legal experts can help. They’ll explain your options, advise on possible compensation, and talk you through how best to approach the airline or booking agent. What’s more, if your holiday has been changed but hasn’t yet started, we can advise you on your right to cancel or what to do if you want to accept any changes. We’ll:

  • listen to the problem and advise on possible rights to compensation
  • explain what you might be entitled to when accepting or declining a pre-departure change
  • help you understand what steps you can take to make a claim
